Best Cyber Warfare Conferences 2021 – 2022

"Best In Category" Series

Privileged Access Management

Cyberwarfare is by far one of (it not “the”) most fascinating subject-matter we list in our directory of security events. Cyberwarfare becomes more important every year, arguably it is the single most impactful and efficient mode of warfare available to nation-states.

The following list of Cyberwarfare conferences, I believe, reflects some of the best ones taking place annually. I’ll be adding to this list “as and when” pertinent conferences are submitted to our directory.

About This List

As the year progresses, we will add more recommended activities for the next year; usually, this is determined by conferences submitted to our directory.

If you work in this vital area, I highly urge you to attend these events. You must attend any of these activities.

Conference Summary

It alludes to the cybersecurity and cyberspace ramifications of human disasters (such as the 2020 pandemic). On a more abstract level, it seeks to stimulate debate about the effects of cyberspace’s rapid expansion and high unpredictability. Whether it’s old threats like ransomware or modern cyberspace developments like information campaigns, these phenomena have significant real-world consequences. We must accept them, research them, and work to put them to good use for the greater good.

European Conference on Cyber Warfare and Security (ECCWS)
June 25th, 2020
United Kingdom

• Past Review •

I understand that the Academic Conferences and Publishing Company (ACPI) organize this Cyberwarfare conference as well as the one listed directly below that I’ve also included because whilst this one is in Europe, the other is in the United States.

Of interest, ACPI Cyberwarfare events are now coming up to being two decades old. Their conferences attract a wide range of interesting delegates including professionals from academia, commerical cybersecurity practitioners, military personnel, and others that have an assocation with community. Of additional interest is the subject matter that the organizers cover including Critical Infrastructure Protection, Incident response strategies, Risk analysis and modeling, Cyber conflict, Cyber terrorism and Psychological warfare. They will also be covering aspects of Digital Forensics.

If you have any association with Cyberwarfare in the coming decade then make sure to keep an eye out for these events.

Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Cyber Security Conference | Singapore
June 16th, 2020
Singapore

• Past Review •

Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and SCADA Systems are within the crosshairs of Cybersecurity Warfare military specialists and for obvious reasons.

Whilst this event may not be directly associated with Cyberwarfare I’ve included it nonetheless because I like to spread the geographic spread of events in this Cyberwar events resource, and also because this event might be of interest to those working in APAC and are aware of the existential threat of SCADA hacking as a result of Cyberwarfare offensive attacks.

CS4CA World: Industrial Cyber Security Conference (Virtual Event)
June 30th, 2020
United Kingdom

• Past Review •

This conference, the CS4CA World: Industrial Cyber Security Conference, is similar to the above except that it is located in London, UK and also has a focus on investigating how to mitigate SCADA/ICS attacks that as previously stated above, might be the result of an offensive military cyber action.

Highly recommended event for those working with SCADA systems in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Cyber Security for Critical Assets (CS4CA) Europe
October 6th, 2020
United Kingdom

• Past Review •

The Cyber Security for Critical Assets (CS4CA) Europe conference addresses (and will likely continue to address) the adaptive processes required to fight cyber threats to critical assets.

The critical assets being referred to include verticals like:

  • Energy
  • Oil & Gas
  • Utilities
  • Power
  • Chemical Processing
  • Water
  • Healthcare

Clearly, all of the above will most likely be in the targets of offensive military cyber actions. We’d recommend you learn more about this event if you work in any of the above-listed industries.

The focus of this conference is to help with methodologies that can help to keep critical infrastructure operational through cyber attacks.

DoD Information Warfare Symposium
March 11th, 2020
United States

• Past Review •

The Defense Strategies Institute’s Information Warfare Symposium was established to be an informal event within a “Town Hall” format and the focus, as you’d imagine, is on Cyberwarfare.

Expect to meet professionals from across three-letter government agencies, military departments, private industry and and academia. Discussions will revolve around how to enhance and protect cyber operations, threats and electronic warfare.

This cyberwar event might be invite-only so please make sure that you can attend before simply turning up.
