If you work in the industry then I hope you enjoy a list I’ve put together that is intended to highlight some recommended Legal Security events and conferences you might consider attending.

The following are my recommendations for Legal (and Cybersecurity) conferences and events. I’ll be adding to this list “as and when” notable legal events are submitted to our directory.

About This List

Securing the Law Firm Summit, Special Session
January 23rd, 2020
United Kingdom

• Past Review •

This British legal tech event is organized by AKJ Associates which also hosts several events around the world, not just in London.

This designated aim of this conference which took place pre-COVID event-shutdown was to help delegates in protecting their digital assets and important data. Real-life case studies were presented making the conference all the more interactive.

For the working in the City of London with Cybersecurity and Legal matters then this event is one to take a note of in your calendar.

World Legal AI Summit

I’ve listed several other Luxatia International events not least because they are well organized but also because they have a very good reputation. This event is of particular interest in that it weaves AI (Artificial Intelligence) in Law.

Combining these two industries (or “subject-matters”) is interesting because they’re bridging the old and the new.

The folks at Luxatia, claim that their World Legal AI Summit that is based in Germany, is designed to bring together professionals working within the Legal and AI field to discuss the problems and solutions to the ever-evolving cyber threat.

The speakers were recommended to share their real-life challenges and share their thoughts on what they did in order to solve them.

Legal Cyber Security Expo
December 2nd, 2020
United Kingdom

• Past Review •

Likely one of the larger Cyber and Legal conferences in 2020.

This event is one of (if not “the”) largest legal event in the United Kingdom, all designed to help InfoSec professionals protect themselves against cyber attacks that are increasing every month (noticeably since COVID took hold, especially as more people than ever are working from home).

In summary, if you work within the Legal Profession, then this is a leading UK conference aimed purely at protecting law firms against cyber attacks and data breaches in the legal sector.

Consider this as a “must-attend” for those in London!

LegalWeek
February 4th, 2020
United States

• Past Review •

The tile of this US Conference clearly says what it is: LegalWeek, i.e. a week of Legal talks and presentations and more!

This New York legal conference came about just before COVID kicked-in (lucky for them).

Of interest, the organizers are keen to stress that LegalWeek is not entirely about Information Security but covers a lot of other ground. If you’re working as an attorney and are in new York then make sure you check out next years LegalWeek.

ASIS Europe
April 1st, 2020
Czech Republic

• Past Review •

Whilst not strictly speaking a “legal conference” I’ve included this Czech event for two reasons.

  • Firstly, it’s good to broaden the geographical reach of events and not confine them to New York or London;
  • ASIS covers a lot of ground with regards to law, risk and resilience.

Highly recommended event if you can make it.

British Legal Technology Forum
March 10th, 2020
United Kingdom

• Past Review •

Along with the Legal Cyber Security Expo, the British Legal Technology Forum is another huge event for the legal industry.

Both are held in London (I’m not sure if the British Legal Technology Forum went ahead due to COVID in 2020), and are major events within the industry espeically with regards to the implications that security has within law.

The British Legal Technology Forum, in the words of the organizers, brings together the most respected professionals from the legal and commercial tech sectors to discuss and explore the systems, strategies, methods and platforms that will drive law firms and legal businesses into the next decade and beyond.

The conference will host four presentation stages rammed full of legal cyber speakers, keynote presentations, panel discussions, knowledge sessions, interviews, interactive demonstrations and a whole lot more!

If you are curious as to who would attend the British Legal Technology Forum then the answer lies with those working at a CXO level for Europe’s best-known tech and IT security suppliers and vendors.

Here’s a link to the 2021 British Legal Tech Forum.
