Offensive Security Events

A conference is a gathering of people who share a particular interest or background with the goal of meeting one another and learning about and discussing topics, ideas, and projects that are relevant to them.

You will learn from others and increase your own abilities and knowledge about your field if you attend other presentations. It’s also crucial to connect with their work, ask questions, and even follow up with a visit following the panel. In our area, networking is crucial, just as it is in every other job.

Attending events in your sector increases your chances of meeting your target prospects or influencers who should be familiar with your company and brand. You’d like people to know who you are, what you do, how you operate, and where you’re headed.

Attending Offensive Security (Pentesting) Conferences

A malevolent actor uses social engineering penetration testing to convince or deceive individuals into providing sensitive information such as a login and password. Phishing and Vishing are two common forms of social engineering attacks employed by pen testers.

A penetration test, also known as a pen test or ethical hacking, is a legally sanctioned simulated cyberattack on a computer system that is used to analyze the system’s security. This is not to be confused with a vulnerability assessment. The test is carried out to discover flaws (also known as vulnerabilities), such as the possibility of unauthorized parties gaining access to the system’s features and data, as well as strengths, allowing a thorough risk assessment to be carried out.

The process usually begins with the identification of target systems and a specific objective, followed by an assessment of existing data and the implementation of various methods to achieve that goal. A penetration test target can be either a white box (in which the tester is given background and system knowledge in advance) or a black box (in which the tester is given very minimal information, if any, other than the firm name). A gray box penetration test combines the two methods (where limited knowledge of the target is shared with the auditor). A penetration test can assist detect a system’s attack weaknesses and evaluating its level of vulnerability.
