hardwear.io first started in October 2015 and was conceptualized to provide the Hardware & Security community with a platform to discuss & solve issues pertaining to hardware security. The objective of the conference revolves around key concerns in hardware, firmware, & related protocols.
In September of 2016, the first two days comprised of 3 technical pieces of training. Each training specialized in different disciplines of hardware hacking. The next 2 days comprised of the main conference which included the technical briefing and the workshop in two parallel tracks.
The events’ 3rd edition saw participation from 285 attendees. The event started with 2 days of technical training. Followed by 2 days of the conference was comprised of technical briefings, CTF, CXO panels, hacking villages and workshops in two parallel tracks.
The 4th edition of Hardwear.io saw 280+ participants. The conference saw talks on technical briefings, a dedicated Hardware CTF, HardPwn – Hardware Hacking Contest, CXO panels, hacking villages and workshops as parallel tracks.
In 2019, hardwear.io held its first edition in the United States that saw 160+ participants. After the immense success of hardwear.io in Europe, for the first time, the event was brought to the Silicon Valley of Silicon i.e., Santa Clara, with the myriad ranges of security training, talks, workshops, CXO panel, & hacking contests.
