Conference Description (submitted by organizer)
The Oceania CACS conference is the annual conference of ISACA within the Oceania region. ISACA’s constituency is characterised by its diversity. Its community includes a variety of professional IT-related positions—some of which include IS auditor, consultant, educator, IS security professional, risk professional, chief information officer and internal auditor. Some are new to the field, others are at middle management levels and still others are in the most senior ranks. ISACA constituents work in nearly all industry categories, including financial and banking, public accounting, government and the public sector, utilities and manufacturing.
While a technology conference, OceaniaCACS traditionally has a business focus, addressing the risk to the business and the solutions that can be adopted within organisations facing the accelerating impact of technology driven change. The conference is well respected as a valuable and enjoyable networking opportunity bringing together not only ISACA members but others in senior governance, risk and assurance positions who are seeking to understand issues and find solutions in the area of technology risk and assurance. The attendees are often uniquely placed to influence strategic and purchasing decisions in respect to risk within organisations.
The 2018 Conference will be held in Melbourne on 3-4 September at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event always attracts attendees from all Australian States but also from New Zealand, PNG and Asia. The 2018 conference will be held in the springtime in Melbourne, one of the best times of the year to visit this picturesque and lively city, widely acclaimed as the cultural capital of Australia.
