AfricaHackOn is one of East Africa’s premier technical computer security collective that brings together the individual talents of the brightest and best security experts in the region, through live presentations, engaging discussions and hands-on demonstrations. The organizers are connoisseurs in a full range of defensive and offensive security topics are well versed in the theoretical aspect of cybersecurity and masters on the practical and tactical angle of the art.

AH as fondly known, has traversed all odds to become a leading venture in raising awareness on matters affecting cyber security and also grooming upcoming talent into the job market. They have been poised to becoming a one-stop shop for talent and resources in a field greatly short staffed.

Their first conference was held on February 28, 2014, which was a resounding success, drawing support from reputed firms such as PwC, IEEE, Azanuru and Serianu Ltd. The theme of the conference was centered on bare-knuckle Cyber Security, a paradigm shift from the usual vendor driven security conferences.

Last 2018 was their 5th conference themed, “Are You Ready for CyberWafare?” which was a call to action from the community.

Fast forward to 2019, it is against this backdrop that the event invites you to co-convene this year’s conference which is undoubtedly going to be even bigger. With a new crop of cybersecurity aficionados, it is a true testimony to the positive effect AfricaHackOn is having at producing seasoned professionals in a market which suffers from a dearth of passionate trained specialists.
