The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is rapidly developing and diversifying its economy, and preparing to achieve the milestones of Vision 2030. A key factor of this bold new economic plan is leveraging information and communications technology (ICT).
On one hand, ICT enables a well-connected society – but on the other hand, it also increases the risks and threats from a variety of malicious players. These threats come from hackers, hacktivists, insiders, organised criminals, and even foreign governments.
The success of cyber security depends on multiple critical factors, including the development of standards, polices and legal frameworks; assessments of risks, governance and compliance; law enforcement and legal interception; sharing and disseminating critical information and alerts; and most importantly, creating further education and awareness among cyber security stakeholders.
In order to proactively tackle cyber security challenges, and protect Saudi Arabia’s critical data and sensitive information, New Horizon is organising the Cyber Defence Summit (CDS) on 13-14 February, 2019 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
