This training program will provide non-technical, non-electrical engineering experts entering the smart utility sector with a firm foundation in the building blocks of the smart grid. With more than three immersive and intensive training days, attendees will understand the history of the power grid and the drivers for its migration to the smart grid, operation, and maintenance of the smart grid, the current architecture, and the impact of future technology trends on the ongoing operation and maintenance of the smart grid.
Whatever your seniority level or professional background, this program will provide the context and foundation you need to hit the ground running in your new role. The program is comprised of 12 modules, each lasting ninety-minutes and will provide a combination of breakout group exercises, speaker-led presentations, and group Q&A sessions.
Three intensive training days providing a thorough understanding of 3 fundamental concepts including:
- History – get to grips with the history of the power grid and the drivers for its migration to the smart grid. Including the current state of play, regulatory backdrop, carbon reduction targets, IT/OT integration.
- Current – immerse in current smart grid architectures, and their operations and maintenance implications. Including utility telecom networks, SCADA systems, substation automation, and IEC 61850, cybersecurity
- Future – discuss future technology trends and their impact on the operations and maintenance of the grid. Including AI & ML, blockchain, big data and utility cloud, energy storage, EV integration, DER and microgrids
