Layer 8 Conference is the first conference in New England that is focused on social engineering and intelligence gathering. The conference will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

Note: This conference was formerly known as “Social Engineering – Rhode Island” or se-ri.org. The organizers decided to change its name during the 2018 conference to better reflect the goals of “Hacking the Human” and its reference to the 7 layer OSI Model, where the human is Layer 8!

Other features of the conference will include:

  • A Lockpicking Village that is run by The Open Organization of Lockpickers (TOOOL) where you can learn how to pick a lock and even try it yourself!
  • An OSINT Village that isrun by Trace Labs and in partnership with the RI State Police where we will use OSINT skills to locate missing persons.
  • A Mental Health Hackers Village with its own track of talks and tips on improving mental and physical health. Expect ‘free’ massages
  • Training! Social Engineering and Open Source Intelligence Workshop with world-class instructor Joe (@C_3PJoe) Gray on Friday, June 7th.
  • Diversity sponsorships for speakers, provided by Mimecast!
  • A two-hour improv workshop run by the Providence Improv Group to help social engineers work on their improvisational skills.

We're proudly sponsored by Kuppering Cole. They've geneoursouly given our community a 15% discount on all ticket sales. Use code "infosecspecial15" to apply the promo. Their next event will be "Consumer Identity World 2019"
