The UK public sector has experienced a quick disruption in its internal technological systems and processes in recent years, with the adoption of new disruptive technologies and new ways of working. The continuing drive towards digital government is helping to deliver better citizen-centric services, improve service delivery, and enhance the quality of life for people in the UK. At the same time, the government is ensuring that the civil service is equipped with the best commercial and digital skills to implement its transformation agenda.

While great strides have been made to innovate and improve legacy systems and business processes, the public sector still spends millions on its ICT infrastructure and there is still a clearly defined need for greater collaboration and investment to spur on further change. The Government now faces new challenges around harnessing the use of disruptive technologies like Artificial Intelligence and proactively developing cybersecurity to be more resilient and secure.
