 Our Review

This week-long event is rammed full of a thousand reasons why we love it. We absolutely encourage you to attend this event. We’d consider this conference as being more of a HackerCon rather than a traditional (vendor) Cyber Security event. If you enjoy watching HAK5 and are familiar with personalities like Darren Kitchen and Samy Kamkar then this would be an awesome event to attend. AppSec is part of OWASP, or better said, it is organized by OWASP so from a Pentesters point of view (Offensive Security), i.e. an excellent place to network and likely even be able to find job opportunities.

AppSec California is a unique conference made for information security experts, pentesters, developers, QA and testing professionals, as they collaborate at the beach from around the world to share experiences, knowledge and learn about secure development methodologies and secure systems.

On January 24, 2020, a great outdoor opening reception will commence on the beautiful decks of the historic Annenberg pool area next to the Vendor Expo, as conference attendees will have an opportunity to network, drink, and eat as they listen to the waves and make new friends under the stars.

Not only that you’ll make new friends but also gain insights on the new techniques for securing your environments and applications.

Three popular security experts will keynote for the 2020 AppSec California namely:

Alex Stamos, a well-known and highly respected cybersecurity and business leader, Samy Kamkar, a famous security and privacy researcher, computer hacker, whistleblower, and entrepreneur and Eva Galperin, EFF’s Director of Cybersecurity.
