Event Summary

The following description was either submitted by the Conference Organizer on Monday, March 2nd 2020, or created by us.

Looking to 2020 and beyond it is clear that the big data analytics market will continue to expand; with 2016 valued at $130 Billion to $203 billion in 2020. That represents a yearly compound growth of 11.7% over the course of four years. With this growth, data monetization has become one of the primary sources of revenue for large organizations.

As corporations become more technically minded when it comes to valuing their data, it appears that the shift will not be one of ability but culture. In an attempt to promote the necessary cultural change required in order to support data-centric transformation, businesses will increasingly position their Chief Data Officers as the lead in data monetization initiatives.

By 2025, the world will have created 180 zettabytes data {180 trillion gigabytes} which serves to reinforce the need to transform our typically historical approach to work and what constitutes value as old sources of revenue become as obsolete as the horse-drawn cart.

In 2018, 85% of business leaders reported that their firms had started programs to create data-driven cultures, but only 37% reported success. Quite simply, as big data gets even bigger, so too will the challenges it represents.
