Our Review
Another excellent BSides event, with this one being in Canada. For those that don’t know BSides: get to know. They’re always first-class events that attract local talent.

Conference Event Summary
The following description was either submitted by the Conference Organizer on Friday, October 2nd 2020, or created by us.
Most commonly referred to as BSides, Security BSides is a series of loosely affiliated information security conferences that are happening worldwide. It was co-founded by Jack Daniel, Chris Nickerson, and Mike Dahn. In 2009, due to a large number of presentation submissions to Black Hat USA, the rejected presentations were presented to a smaller group of professionals. The conference format Over time matured and was released to enable individuals to start their own BSides conferences.
BSides conferences have three event styles which are Structured, Unconference, and Hybrid. A Structured event follows the traditional conference model and often happens in tandem with other bigger conferences such as RSA, Black Hat, DEFCON and more. Attendees typically intermingle and attend one or more events. Talks are submitted to the local event ahead of time, selected, and scheduled prior to the start of the conference. In the Unconference event style, it’s completely attendee driven. Attendees appear at a predetermined time, discuss ideas, and collaboratively agree upon what the schedule will look like for that day. Talks that get the most attention and conversation get added to the schedule.
BSides Calgary will be held on November 12 – 13, 2020.
