CPDP is a non-profit platform that is originally founded in 2007 by research groups from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Tilburg University, and the Université de Namur. It was later joined by Fraunhofer Institut für System und Innovationsforschung and the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique.
Over the years, the event has now grown into a platform carried by 20 academic centers of excellence from the US, EU and beyond. As one of the world-leading multidisciplinary conferences, CPDP provides cutting-edge legal, regulatory, academic and technological development in privacy and data protection. Within an atmosphere of independence and mutual respect, CPDP brings together academics, practitioners, lawyers, industry and civil society, and policy-makers, from around the world in Brussels to provide them an arena to share and exchange ideas and discuss the most recent emerging issues and trends. This one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary formula has served to make CPDP one of the leading data protection and privacy conferences in Europe and around the world.
