 Our Review

Whilst not strictly speaking a Cybersecurity Conference SANS have been listing their events with us for years and we’re delighted to list them. This event is the ever-topical SCADA/ICS niche that always commands a premium in Cybersecurity.

Everyone is invited to join SANS for their annual ICS Europe Summit 2020 which will be held on June 8 – 13 in Munich, Germany. The current cybersecurity landscape presents a very diverse and chaotic picture of the threats facing industrial control system operators and owners. Attacks that cause physical damage or impact physical processes are no longer limited to speculation or theory.

People now saw several high-profile cases where malicious actors have successfully caused system damage, intruded, and impacted operations. Disruptive malware delivered through increasingly creative methods has found their way to plant floors encrypting critical files or in some cases wiping those files altogether. We need to be prepared to better defend or face a turbulent future as industrial control systems are as critical as ever.

The event also has a call for papers. Organizers will consider presentations on a wide range of ICS security topics. Preference is given to presentations that are delivered by asset owners, ICS security practitioners, or government agencies. Talks that focus on real-world solutions and experiences are also encouraged especially if it can provide participants with actionable takeaways that they can apply in their own companies.
