Know more about ShmooCon
DIFFERENT – ShmooCon is an annual east coast hacker convention hell-bent on providing three days of an interesting atmosphere for demonstrating inventive software, technology exploitation, hardware solutions, and open discussions of critical infosec issues. The first day is a single track of speed talks called One Track Mind. The next two days bring three tracks: Build It, Belay It, and Bring It On.
AFFORDABLE – No need to pay for a high price for high-quality content. Please take note that space is limited and their tickets sold quickly every year.
ACCESSIBLE – ShmooCon is held in Washington, DC at the Washington Hilton about four blocks from the DC Metro’s Dupont Circle Station. Fly into DCA, IAD, or BWI or take a train to Union Station, and you’re just a short cab ride away from the con.
ENTERTAINING – Brain melting from all the cool tech you’re learning? Be sure to check out the other events running during ShmooCon, including the Lockpick Village, ShmooCon Labs, Hack Fortress, and more.
SHMOOCON SUPPORTS THE FREE AND OPEN EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION. Attendees at ShmooCon have unique and diverse viewpoints on just about any topic. The exchange of ideas among attendees is encouraged.
Also! This year has a new feature called: ShmooCon Firetalks
ShmooCon Firetalks is an evening event that tests the skills of those who stand on the stage. There will be six people that are given 15 minutes to dive right into the core of their content and present their ideas.
Several judges will be on hand, American Idol-style, to critique and listen to the presentation on both content and style and content. This is done in both a serious and humorous manner in front of the audience. After the event, the judges will vote on the best presentations–with the top three being awarded some amazing prizes to be handed out at ShmooCon closing ceremonies.
Firetalks are part of the ShmooCon event and both attendees and submitters must already have a ShmooCon Barcode to participate.
