First let me say that I’m very excited to attend this conference! With 14 years in cyber security I’m excited to meet other women in this field. So here’s my question, any CPEs associated with this conference

Response from Cybersecurity Conferences 2020 - 2021

Hi Tara – I am not 100% sure about the specific event you’re referring to, but what I do know is that “typically” you get one credit for every hour with Professional Bodies like ISACA, ISSA, ISC2 etc. Also – BTW – I hope you don’t mind that I edited your review title to reflect the question/review better.

Nope, we are NOT letting Coronavirus get in the way of our learning and ability to better ourselves with our career and personal ambitions. Let's not let this negative overwhelm us. With this "downtime" let's maximize the time and upskill and learn how to be better at our InfoSec professions. To help, we've put together a bunch of online webinars, conferences and seminars that you can attend to do exactly that.

Stay Safe, Stay Strong and we'll see you on the other side. Your friends at InfoSec Conferences X

 Our Review

We love this event because there’s not a lot of women in the cybersecurity industry and this conference will help recruit and improve the statistics of women working in cybersecurity.

Each year, WiCyS holds an annual conference with local host college partners. The WiCyS event is an excellent chance for organizations to connect with women students and candidates to recruit them into the field! 50% of the attendees are students looking for employment who have been accepted through the scholarship program that sponsorships help to support. In addition to students, the other 50% is made up of experienced leaders, professionals in the cybersecurity field who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise with others and mentor those interested in cyber careers. There are many ways to participate in WiCyS – as volunteers, speakers, sponsors, and supporters.

Because of the enormous gap between available talent and cybersecurity jobs (by some accounts it’s 300,000 by the year 2020), the mission of Women in CyberSecurity makes so much sense – to broaden participation in cyber by recruiting, retaining and advancing women in the field of cybersecurity, and improve on the very low 11% statistic of women in cybersecurity jobs.
