x33fcon is a cool event because it gathers both red and blue teamers to gather, share ideas and discuss thoughts on security. Once you attend this event, it doesn’t matter whichever side you’re on, what is important is that you’ll gain more knowledge that you can use in your everyday lives.

Yet another security conference? Nope.
The idea behind x33fcon (pronounced /ˈziːf-kɒn/) is to focus on a very specific need of the security industry: collaboration between red and blue teams (sometimes referred to as purple teaming). It is hard to build a solid bridge between those who assess security and those who guard the castle. Many misconceptions and misunderstandings arise between these two groups.
That is what the conference wants to change. Rather than continue to think about security from either a defensive or offensive perspective, the goal is to encourage security experts to consider both perspectives while working more closely together. Both blue and red teams provide unique capabilities to an organization, but the collaboration between the two yields the best results.
