Meetings at the OWASP chapter are every last Wednesday of the month and are open to all (as well as counting towards CPE credits.) The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is a 501(c)(3) worldwide not-for-profit charitable organization focused on improving the security of software. Our mission is to make software security visible, so that individuals and organizations worldwide can make informed decisions about true software security risks. This South Florida local chapter is welcoming anyone interested in Secure Application/Software Development, Information Security, Web Security, Application Security or Penetration Testing.
South Florida ISSA is a long standing chapter of the Information System Security Association. SFISSA is one of the most distinguished chapters world-wide. SFISSA has held Security Conferences since 1998. SFISSA is very involved in the InfoSec space on a variety of levels, from management to technicians, and covers a broad range of InfoSec topics at both the monthly meetings and during our events. The Hack the Flag Challenge, being hosted in August this year, is recognized across the United Floridas as one of the premier learning events. SFISSA also is proud to be the home of several ISSA Senior Members, including ISSA Fellow William A. Cellich.
This chapter has several events lined up including a face-to-face and a networking event. With 140,000 constituents in 180 countries, ISACA is a leading global provider of knowledge, certifications, community, advocacy and education on information systems (IS) assurance and security, enterprise governance and management of IT, and IT-related risk and compliance. Founded in 1969, ISACA sponsors international conferences, publishes the ISACA® Journal, and develops international information systems auditing and control standards. It also administers the globally respected Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control designations.
InfraGard is a national information sharing program between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the private sector. The South Florida InfraGard Members Alliance is made up of individuals from critical sectors of the economy such as energy, transportation, banking, finance, public health, information/telecommunications, emergency services and others.
