BSides Detroit is the Saturday after Converge Detroit. Having a BSides conference in Detroit is about bringing people from all over to Detroit, to talk about technical and non-technical topics, to educate and advance the industry in a location that has a relatively large number of IT and security professionals and students who call it home.

OmniCorpDetroit is a collective of makers / entrepreneurs / creators / artists / engineers / musicians and others who come together in a repurposed industrial building in Eastern Market to work on projects, learn and share together. In general, they’re making, breaking, reshaping and hacking all sorts of things. They host events, give workshops, brainstorm with strangers, and collaborate with other organizations for events like Eastern Market After Dark or CAMP Detroit. Each member at OCD is different, some are techies, others are starting small businesses and some are artists. They tend to fall on the “maker” end of the hackerspace spectrum. You can never predict what someone will be working on at OmniCorp.
