They are holding regular meetings on the 4th Tuesday of every month. OWASP-KC’s mission is to be a welcoming community for Web Application Developers and Information Security Professionals to learn, communicate, and share their perspectives at a common table.
Another premier security group, ISSA hold regular trainings, meetings and networking events. The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. Through its membership, ISSA -Kansas Kansas City helps security professionals in the Kansas Kansas City area learn of information security issues and trends, which promote education, collaboration, and leadership, and further the information security profession.

The ISACA KC Chapter was founded in 1984 and continues to promote the education of individuals relating to the auditing of, management consulting in, or direct management of the fields of IT governance, IS audit, security, control and assurance.
An FBI-supported group, InfraGard is out to protect the homeland’s infrastructure through a private-public relationship. InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and the private sector. It is an association of persons who represent businesses, academic institutions, Missouri and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the U.S.

Meetings for this group are usually held on the first Friday of the month at the Oak Park food court. 2600 Meetings exist as a forum for all interested in technology to meet and talk about events in technology-land, learn, and teach. Meetings are open to anyone of any age or level of expertise.
It’s one great bunch and they even had a Mini-Maker Faire and an OMGWTFBBQ a while back. Recent projects include a homemade cotton candy machine and marshmallow shooter kits. The Cowtown Computer Congress of Kansas Kansas City is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization. We are dedicated to providing educational resources to our community, through outreach, supporting other organizations and events, teaching classes, and by providing a means to network with other professionals and hobbyists.
BSides is there to handle your post Cyber-RAID trauma (or victory, as the case may be). You’ll get talks, discussions and more. Each BSides is a community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members. The goal is to expand the spectrum of conversation beyond the traditional confines of space and time. It creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participate in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. It is where conversations for the next-big-thing are happening.
Data Connectors is a cyber security career-networking event. Most of the events are valid for CEU/ CPD credits – but we’d encourage you to check first.
Join your fellow security professionals for affordable, high-quality training and education. Attend featured keynotes, panel discussions, and breakout sessions, all while networking with local peers. Earn 6 – 12 CPE (Continuing Education Credits; also known as CPD/ CEU) credits through 30 or more educational elements, learning from nationally recognized industry leaders. This event would be excellent to attend if you work in a Cyber Security role in Kansas.
