We actually attended this event and thought it was awesome (that was back in 2016) and we’ve included this exhibition on all our events directories over the years.
The ‘Security & Counter Terror Expo’ is held in central London (in Kensington Olympia) and you can consider it as being an event for ‘all things Counter Terror’.
The venue is a collection of seven connected venues and we believe that this event occupies all the rooms. One thing is for sure: this is a huge event. Literally, this event (which is more of an ‘Exhibiton’ rather than a Cybersecurity Conference) brings together hundreds of vendors that have a product or solution aimed at combating and reducing all the implications and threats of terrorism. Cyber Terrorism is a huge subject of course and there are several vendors at this event promoting their solutions to this ‘problem’.
In the words of the organizers, the “Security & Counter Terror Expo is an event for any expert tasked with protecting assets, business, people and nations from terrorism”.
More than 10,000 people attend this event which spans several days.
Whilst this may not be your ‘traditional Cybersecurity Conference’, what we can guarantee is a breathtaking array of solutions to fight CyberJihad. Should be noted that this event packs a ton of awesome military-grade hardware too.
This event is certainly large and one to attend if you are interested in everything that law enforcement and affiliated organizations have put together to combat terrorism. There’s a ton of events that you can attend. Whilst we believe that most of this is still valid please check whether the same applies to Security & Counter Terror Expo 2018; namely, that there are over 100+ FREE Conferences that you can take part in.
The Terrorism and Social Media International Conference (TASM) conference will bring together (in the words of the organizers): “…a range of researchers, policy-makers and practitioners, from a number of different countries and disciplinary backgrounds. The first day of the conference will focus on how terrorists are using social media. The overarching objective will be to gain a deeper, empirically-grounded understanding of terrorist groups and lone actor terrorists”.
As mentioned at the start of this post, our research, and plenty of reputable media out there, indicates that with regards to recruiting and promoting (Global) Cyber Jihad, ‘Cyber Terrorists’ are highly effective. It is for that reason that we have included this event which is also taking place in London. We are sure that GCHQ will be actively involved at this Cyber Conference.
Day one will conclude with the conference dinner, hosted by Lord Carlile QC.
Day two will focus on questions of response, including comparisons between different forms of response and different jurisdictions and cultures, and considering what criteria should be employed as evaluative standards.
This event has a total of six keynote presentations from leading Cyber-Terror experts, and attendees will also have the opportunity to choose from a total of 16 breakout sessions featuring 48 other speakers.
This is interesting: the conference organizers have set-out a challenge to invite teams to propose research to combat Cyberterrorism and the winners will receive funding to take the projects forward.
