In this post, we take a look at Cybersecurity Conferences taking place in New York, United States, specifically throughout 2019.
All events and conferences that are listed on this page are in descending order (so the most recent) at the top.
Cybersecurity Events In New York
Needless to say, New York and New York State have a very progressive attitude when it comes to Cybersecurity.
In fact, the local state government is making a huge effort in 2019 to position New York City as a global leader for Cybersecurity.
The City of New York in 2019 pledged to invest $30M to make New York City a global leader in cybersecurity and to help create 10,000 InfoSec jobs.
New York is obviously the center of everything relating to finance in the US so it's somewhat inevitable that there was a push to create Cybersecurity as an agenda for the future.
In tandem with the relentless need for Cybersecurity Professionals in New York and the explosion of the industry in the state is the rise of conferences. FinTech is clearly a growing sector in NYC and we note some particularly awesome events, not least FinTech New York Week which we imagine will also be hosted in 2019.
As of Q4 2018, we counted that there were over 145 specific Cybersecurity Conferences and Events taking place in the city which is really quite a staggering amount. Said simply, there's an event for everyone in the city.
Our Favorite Hacker Events & Conferences In New York
We're not affiliated with any organization in New York, but we do have two favorite events. The first is HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth) purely because it is so old-school and awesome. It seems however that there was a ton of controversy in 2018, and we hope to see HOPE in 2019!
The second event we'd recommend is BSides NYC: an InfoSec event in which you'll meet a ton of Cybersecurity Professionals living and working in New York City. We publish a lot of BSides events and will continue to do so in 2019.
As ever, if you feel that we've missed an event out please drop a comment below and/ or add it to our directory (just click the button on the upper navigation).
