Conference Description

SECCON is recognized as Japan’s largest Capture The Flag (CTF) competition, drawing cybersecurity professionals and enthusiasts nationwide. Each year, SECCON hosts an in-person event called “Dennoh Kaigi” (電脳会議), which coincides with the SECCON CTF Final. This gathering serves as a vibrant platform for workshops, presentations, and mini CTFs, fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening the cybersecurity community.

Dennoh Kaigi: A Hub for Cybersecurity Collaboration

Dennoh Kaigi is a cornerstone of SECCON, offering a diverse array of activities designed to engage participants at all skill levels. Attendees can participate in hands-on workshops, interactive mini CTFs, and networking sessions. The event is structured to encourage both learning and collaboration, making it an ideal environment for those seeking to deepen their understanding of cybersecurity trends and techniques.

One of the event’s highlights is the “Open Conference,” a dedicated track for presentations. Here, experts and newcomers alike share their latest research, innovative ideas, and practical experiences. Previous conferences have featured topics such as attack methods targeting browser extensions, advancements in attack detection for connected vehicles using machine learning, and insights from OSINT CTF challenges. This diversity of content ensures that attendees gain exposure to a wide range of cybersecurity issues and solutions.

Call for Presentations: Expanding the Cybersecurity Dialogue

SECCON actively encourages the submission of presentation proposals through its Call for Presentations. The conference welcomes contributions related to technological research, innovative tools, or practical case studies in the field of cybersecurity. Submissions of any difficulty level are accepted, and prior speaking experience is not a requirement. This inclusive approach aims to broaden participation and foster a richer exchange of ideas within the cybersecurity sector.

Applicants are invited to submit proposals in either English or Japanese. The conference values originality and welcomes presentations that have been previously accepted at other events, provided they are relevant to information security. Presenters can choose between 20-minute or 50-minute sessions, allowing flexibility in content delivery.
