Proxmox has gained significant adoption as an open-source virtualisation platform, and its ability to rapidly provision virtual machines and containers can quickly create visibility gaps if new assets are not automatically registered in the organisation’s network inventory. Automated discovery addresses this by identifying Proxmox-managed infrastructure and incorporating it into the Network Source of Truth without requiring manual intervention.

Addressing Network Drift

A significant focus of the release is the identification and reconciliation of network drift—the gradual divergence between what network documentation and management systems believe exists and what is actually deployed. In cloud environments particularly, where infrastructure can be provisioned through automation, APIs and self-service portals, drift accumulates rapidly. Resources are created, modified and decommissioned through processes that may not update centralised records, leaving network teams working from outdated information.

SOLIDserver 9.1 provides mechanisms to detect these discrepancies across cloud assets and reconcile them, restoring accuracy to the Network Source of Truth.
