About the Event

Shift.Forward() is a half-day virtual event scheduled for October 27, 2026, running from 9:00 AM to 12:45 PM PDT. Hosted by Outshift by Cisco and Cisco DevNet, the event brings together researchers, developers and enterprise leaders to examine the current state and future direction of AI agent systems, automation and scalable intelligent infrastructure.

The program features 18 sessions organized across four tracks, with speakers representing Cisco, NVIDIA, Red Hat, Postman, Asana, ServiceNow, Webex, SoftServe, Orium and Across AI. Sessions range from keynotes and technical deep dives to hands-on workshops.

Agentic AI and Multi-Agent Systems

Several sessions focus on the engineering challenges of building AI agents that collaborate effectively. Tushar Agrawal and Giovanna Carofiglio from Outshift will present on engineering intentional agent collaboration, while the closing keynote panel will discuss building collective AI systems with participants from Asana, Sailplane.io and Across AI.

A workshop led by Outshift engineers covers diagnosis and remediation in multi-agent systems using MAS-Lab and OXP. Another workshop introduces Mycelium, a framework for coordinating agents across organizational boundaries. Ankit Sobti, Co-Founder of Postman, will present on first-principles approaches to building autonomous AI agents.

Enterprise AI and Automation

The Build track includes a session from NVIDIA on constructing secure, production-ready AI factories. Red Hat’s Sean Cavanaugh will address multimode automation for future-proof infrastructure foundations. Cisco DevNet advocates will demonstrate development environments for network automation and on-premises AI agents for real-time syslog analysis.

The Land track examines practical adoption scenarios. Orium’s Everett Zufelt will discuss the prerequisites for AI-driven autonomous procurement between companies. ServiceNow and Outshift representatives will present on governed, cross-vendor multi-agent network change verification.

Emerging Technologies: Quantum and Embodied AI

Cisco Research leads two sessions on emerging technology domains. Reza Nejabati, Head of Quantum Labs at Cisco Research, will present Cisco’s blueprint for quantum networking infrastructure. A fireside chat featuring Ramana Kompella (VP and Head of Cisco Research) and Dr. Achuta Kadambi (Associate Professor of AI at UCLA) will explore the systems required for embodied AI and robotics.

Industry Applications

Webex product leaders will demonstrate how connected agents and collective intelligence enable human-AI collaboration within their platform. SoftServe’s Volodymyr Fedak will present a technical deep dive on a multi-agent healthcare platform built on Cisco Secure AI, addressing clinical intelligence at scale.

Who Should Attend

The event targets software developers building AI agent systems, enterprise architects designing automation patterns, product managers evaluating agentic AI capabilities and technology leaders responsible for AI adoption strategies. The technical content assumes familiarity with APIs, automation frameworks and AI development concepts.
