Croatia is becoming increasingly focused on improving its cybersecurity and IT security practices. Croatia is seeing an increased focus on cyber education and research in the public, private, and educational sectors. The challenge for Cybersecurity is that Croatia is vulnerable to hackers and cybercriminals due to a lack of resources and capacity.

The Croatian government is committed to boosting IT security. In 2016, the government passed the Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection Law, which established the National Cyber Security Protection System and Cyber Security Center. The government is also working to establish national standards and regulations for IT security.

In response to the increasing need for cybersecurity, Croatia has hosted several cyber conferences and events to discuss and promote cybersecurity topics. The annual Croatian Security Conference (CroSec) is held in Zagreb and focuses on information security. The Croatian Information Security Conference also takes place in Zagreb and focuses on IT security topics. Additionally, the Croatia Information Security Summit (CROSTIS) takes place in Zagreb and covers topics related to IT and cyber security.

The Croatian government is taking steps to ensure the security of the country's digital infrastructure. The Ministry of Science and Education launched the National Cyber Security Initiative, which provides resources to educate the public and teach cybersecurity best practices. Additionally, the government has established several cybersecurity research centers and programs focused on researching and developing new IT security strategies.

Greece is an advanced technological power with a thriving IT and online security industry. Cybersecurity has been an integral part of the Greek economy for years and is becoming increasingly important as the country continues to develop its digital infrastructure. To keep up with developments in the sector, Greece regularly hosts various cyber events and conferences, highlighting the key trends and topics in the sector.

Organizations such as the Hellenic Association Of Information Systems Security Professionals (HAISSP) are leading the way when it comes to cyber events in Greece, with the yearly conference ‘SpartaCON’ regularly taking place in Athens. The event focuses on topics such as security education and talks given by industry professionals, providing a platform to discuss and analyze the latest trends in IT security and cyber threats in Europe.

Besides the HAISSP, Greece is home to several other events and conferences related to cybersecurity. The ICT Security Event takes place every year and is the largest IT security event in Southeast Europe. It is organized with the assistance of the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance and covers topics related to digital security, privacy, data protection, and more.

Other notable security events in Greece include the National Security Symposium, which focuses on the latest developments in cyber technology and security, and the Athens Security Forum, which brings together stakeholders from different sectors such as the public and private sectors, academia, and NGOs.

In addition to these events, Greek companies and universities organized regular conferences and workshops related to IT security, such as ‘Cyber Security Greece’ in 2019, which focused on topics such as the legal framework of cybersecurity, information governance, and digital forensics.
