In this resource, we list Israeli Cybersecurity Conferences taking place throughout 2020.
After the United States, Israel is one of the more popular countries for hosting InfoSec Events.
The History of Cybersecurity In Israel
Owing to the political situation Israel has long developed a robust military; including, of course, Offensive and Defensive Cybersecurity capabilities.
Learning From Mistakes
The Israeli Security Services and the leadership learned from the UK’s errors from the end of the second world war.
Tommy Flowers and Alan Turing’s geniuses went unacknowledged after the war; there’s no doubt that they sped up the duration of the war and saved thousands of lives. The lack of appreciation that they both failed to receive was not only a personal tragedy but a national one too – the opportunity was lost in Britain to build on the skills that had been developed at Bletchley Park and maintain the momentum required to keep innovating and build a leading industry around computers and cryptography (which of course spawned into “Cyber Security”).
The Israelis, on the other hand, did the opposite to what Britain did in 1945. Their government long realized the benefits of recycling and repurposing talented Cybersecurity individuals who gained invaluable experience and knowledge attained from military offensive and defensive and place those skills within a commercial perspective.
Jumping ahead, we note that in 2015, Benjamin Netanyahu had set a mandate that Israel should become one of the Top Five Cybersecurity Powers in the World; a goal which has been met.
Israel receives roughly one-fifth of the World’s global private investment in Cybersecurity. In fact, when Mr. Netanyahu was a keynote at one of the largest Israeli Cybersecurity Events, Cybertech 2017, he said:
You’re in a wonderful business. In fact…it’s endless!

Of course, with the plethora of Cybersecurity start-ups in Israel, (there were 166 “Israeli Cyber Start-ups in July 2018), there’s a tremendous need to market and network and as a result, there are a ton of Israeli InfoSec Events. Most events take place in Tel Aviv and they are certainly increasing in quantity.
If you feel that we’ve missed an event please be sure to add it.
