Croatia is becoming increasingly focused on improving its cybersecurity and IT security practices. Croatia is seeing an increased focus on cyber education and research in the public, private, and educational sectors. The challenge for Cybersecurity is that Croatia is vulnerable to hackers and cybercriminals due to a lack of resources and capacity.

The Croatian government is committed to boosting IT security. In 2016, the government passed the Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Protection Law, which established the National Cyber Security Protection System and Cyber Security Center. The government is also working to establish national standards and regulations for IT security.

In response to the increasing need for cybersecurity, Croatia has hosted several cyber conferences and events to discuss and promote cybersecurity topics. The annual Croatian Security Conference (CroSec) is held in Zagreb and focuses on information security. The Croatian Information Security Conference also takes place in Zagreb and focuses on IT security topics. Additionally, the Croatia Information Security Summit (CROSTIS) takes place in Zagreb and covers topics related to IT and cyber security.

The Croatian government is taking steps to ensure the security of the country's digital infrastructure. The Ministry of Science and Education launched the National Cyber Security Initiative, which provides resources to educate the public and teach cybersecurity best practices. Additionally, the government has established several cybersecurity research centers and programs focused on researching and developing new IT security strategies.

When it comes to Cybersecurity in Slovenia, there are a growing number of initiatives and resources available to help improve cybersecurity in the country. In 2020, the Slovenian government announced a new cybersecurity strategy, which established measures and practices to ensure the safety of data held and exchanged by public administrations and businesses. This demonstrates the importance the government places on cyber security in the country.

Slovenia has several annual conferences, events, and seminars devoted to cybersecurity that take place throughout the year. These events are an opportunity to hear from experts on topics such as cybercrime, digital forensics, cyber defense, cyber security regulatory best practices, and more.

The most prominent and long-lasting cyber security event in Slovenia is the Cyber Security Days conference. This yearly event held in October features speakers and workshops from leading global and local cybersecurity experts. Additionally, the Cyber Security Awareness Day takes place annually in June which includes talks, panels, and workshops on cybersecurity topics.

For those interested in taking their career in cyber security to the next level, there are various training and certification courses available in Slovenia. In terms of certification, the national government has partner up with CompTIA to launch the national ICT professional certification program in Slovenia. This program is designed to help professionals obtain professional ICT skills and qualifications.

Finally, Slovenia is home to some notable cybersecurity startups and research centers, such as DEFCONyouth, a security firm focused on empowering young people to protect themselves from cyber risk, and the Institute of Forensic Science Research, an academic institution involved in forensic research, training, and development relating to cyber security in Slovenia.
