Vietnam is an increasingly important player in the international cybersecurity and IT arena. As the country continues to become more digitally connected and reliant on technology, it has become increasingly important to ensure the security of its online networks, data, and infrastructure. Consequently, the Vietnamese government, organizations, and individuals are investing time and resources into improving the country’s security networks and practices.

The Vietnamese government has taken steps to improve its internal security with law No. 72/2017/QH14 enacted in 2017. This law seeks to prevent cyber-attacks and other unlawful activities, protect citizens’ data, as well as enhance cyber safety and resilience. Related to private sector investments, the recent Vietnamese Cyber Security Law (CSL) encourages organizations to build and enhance their cybersecurity capabilities to protect their networks. In addition, the government is also developing its national cybersecurity strategy to develop skills and infrastructure, set up reporting procedures, create risk management plans, and train security professionals.

To stay on top of the latest cyber trends and support digital inclusion, several cybersecurity conferences and events have been held in Vietnam. A few of these include the Annual International Conference on Cyber Security (AICCS) in Da Nang, Vietnam Cyber Security Day (VCSD) in Hanoi, and the Vietnam InfoSec Conference (VNIS) in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnamese IT professionals have also attended several internationally acclaimed conferences such as the RSA Asia Conference, HITB Secure Asia Conference, and Singapore Cyber Week.

These conferences and events are essential for industry professionals, especially for those from Vietnam and the wider Asia-Pacific region. They offer valuable opportunities to come together to network, hear from keynote speakers, participate in panel discussions, and learn about new cybersecurity solutions and best practices. They also provide a platform for companies to launch new developments in cybersecurity such as AI-driven security solutions, emerging IoT technologies, and security analytics.
