About the Event

SCALE (Southern California Linux Expo) is a volunteer-run conference that brings together the open source community for four days of technical sessions, workshops and networking. The conference attracts attendees and speakers from around the globe, with a program built by a volunteer committee of approximately 40 members who review proposals and curate the schedule.

Co-Located Events and Special Tracks

SCALE 24x hosts several specialized events within the main conference:

  • Cloud Native Days LA
  • PostgreSQL@SCaLE
  • Libre Graphics Day
  • Open Source in Higher Education
  • TNG (youth track for next generation technologists)
  • Birds of a Feather Sessions

DevOpsDay LA and additional partner events run alongside the main conference.

Who Should Attend

SCALE welcomes open source practitioners, security professionals, DevOps engineers, cloud native developers, database administrators, educators and students. The conference actively encourages first-time speakers, with a significant portion of each year’s program coming from presenters new to conference speaking. Open source projects and communities can apply for free booth space on the expo floor.
