Cybersecurity in Delaware
Delaware, located on the east coast of the United States, is home to many Fortune 500 companies, and as a result, is becoming an increasingly important destination for cybersecurity events and conferences.
Since Delaware is also a popular destination for businesses, its cybersecurity landscape has become an area of focus for federal and state agencies.
The Delaware Cybersecurity Council is the state’s foremost group focusing on cybercrime prevention and the development of cyber-security solutions for business and government organizations. T
he group works closely with law enforcement agencies and corporations to improve security practices and coordinate response plans in the event of a cyber-attack.
Delaware also is home to the National Guard’s Cyber Protection Team, which works to educate citizens about the importance of cyber safety and to protect against data and system vulnerabilities.
The state participates in the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), which is a nationwide program to provide technical training and certification to private and public sector personnel.
Additionally, the Delaware Department of Technology and Information (DTI) works to improve the state’s cyber-security infrastructure and initiatives. The DTI helps to ensure that all state IT systems remain secure and compliant with relevant cyber-security laws.
As the importance of cybersecurity increases, Delaware has become a hub for cybersecurity events. Major conferences such as ShmooCon Delaware, Cyber Security Awareness Month, and the Delaware Cybersecurity Conference draw attendees from around the country. The conferences provide an opportunity to learn about the latest trends, tools, and techniques to help protect businesses and individuals from cyber-attacks.
