Information Security in Iowa
The State of Iowa is no exception when it comes to the growing demand for cybersecurity professionals. Iowa has numerous cyber events and cybersecurity conferences held throughout each year, which are designed for professionals working in the field as well as for students who are interested in learning more.
One of the most prominent cybersecurity conferences hosted in Iowa is the Iowa Cyber Summit, which takes place in Des Moines annually. This event is geared toward senior-level professionals in the IT security industry. It features hands-on workshops, educational lectures, and panel discussions from experts in the field of cyber security.
The “Iowa Information Security Forum” (ISF) is another major event in Iowa that focuses solely on information security. The ISF covers topics such as secure development, cloud security, and securing the healthcare industry. It brings together industry leaders from both the public and private sectors to connect and discuss common challenges.
In addition to these two major events, the Iowa Cyber Community (ICC) hosts CyberTalks to spread knowledge and help keep the state’s cybersecurity professionals up to date on the latest trends. There are also dozens of smaller ones hosted throughout the year throughout the state.
Finally, the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) offers a Cybersecurity Awareness Program for businesses and individuals. This comprehensive program focuses on topics such as incident response, data protection, and user education. It is designed to help companies and individuals identify, prevent, mitigate, and respond to cyber-attacks.
