Kansas is becoming more and more active in cyber security and is making changes to better protect its citizens and their data from the threats of cybercrime. Cybersecurity awareness and education are a key focus for the state with recent efforts to bring attention to the danger of cyber-attacks.

Cybersecurity conferences in Kansas are held throughout the year.

These events bring together security researchers, government officials, and experts in a variety of cybersecurity areas to discuss the latest trends and developments in the field.

The Kansas Cyber Security Conference, held in Wichita, is the largest event in the state and is attended by major companies and agencies such as Bank of America and the Kansas Department of Occupational and Professional Regulation.

The University of Kansas and Kansas State University also offer cybersecurity conferences and events throughout the year. In addition, several smaller towns in Kansas, such as Topeka and Lawrence, host smaller local cyber security events to bring awareness to local community members and businesses about cyber risks and how to protect themselves.

In terms of overall cyber security initiatives, the state has a comprehensive plan in place to protect its citizens. The Kansas Cybersecurity Strategic Plan is updated annually and consists of 15 initiatives that are designed to improve security at all levels.

These include increasing awareness and education of cyber security among both citizens and businesses, creating cyber security hubs in the state, and implementing effective laws and regulations to protect data, core infrastructure, and public and private industry.

Kansas also offers a range of cyber security resources to both citizens and businesses.

For instance, the Kansas State Department of Commerce provides resources for businesses to protect their data and increase security in their organizations. Furthermore, the State of Kansas’s Office of Homeland Security provides free cybersecurity courses for citizens to learn more about the best practices for cybersecurity.
